Symmetry Engineering and Forensic Consulting LLC provides consulting services to business and industry. Based in Northern California (the Sacramento area), engineering services are provided nationwide. The principal at Symmetry, Dr. Peter C. McKeighan, is a broadly trained and highly experienced mechanical engineer specializing in solid mechanics, material performance and failure analysis. Consulting services are provided in three key areas: engineering design, failure analysis and litigation support.

I formed the company to provide timely, affordable mechanical engineering consulting. My passion is failure prevention and my focus is assisting customers during both the earliest stages of the design process as well as later in the life cycle in the unfortunate case of failure occuring while the component is in service. Most engineering failures are avoidable with thorough, robust engineering design.
