Symmetry Engineering and Forensic Consulting LLC provides mechanical engineering services in three key areas.
Engineering Design Support
Engineering support focused on design, particularly the prevention of component failure. Technology services include the basic design process, material selection, solid mechanics, component lifing and failure prevention. The intent of this engineering support is to insure the highest probability of excellent, failure free component performance once in-service.
Failure Analysis
Failure analysis is the scientific process (using forensic methods) of investigating the circumstances of a failure/accident. Industrial accidents occur for a variety of reasons and understanding the contributing issues is a critical part in determining the root cause, and ultimately liability. The types of investigations undertaken range from simple accidents to more complex on-scene, large-scale failures.
Litigation Support
In cases where the failure analysis does not satisfy the needs of the parties, litigation ensues. Although the majority of cases settle prior to litigation, in the event that settlement does not occur, expert engineering services can be provided. The principal at Symmetry has both deposition and courtroom-testimony experience.
